The Art of Oops
The Art of Oops is a series of short, character-driven videos designed to teach children aged 7–11 about key gallery rules and why they matter. By turning everyday objects—like picture frames, hands, bags and phones—into humorous, illustrated characters, the videos explain common issues such as touching artworks or using flash photography in a fun and accessible way. The aim is to help young visitors understand how their actions can impact artworks and to encourage more mindful behaviour in galleries. Through engaging storytelling and memorable visuals, the series supports galleries and museums in raising awareness, reducing accidental damage, and fostering a more respectful experience for everyone.
Character Development

The characters are designed with soft outlines to help them stand out, while bright, vibrant colours bring energy and liveliness to the videos. These design choices also give the characters a friendly, approachable impression for the audience.

The final visual design keeps things clear, fun, and easy to follow. Background colours shift to match the mood of each scene, and anything behind the characters is toned down so they stay in the spotlight. Simple backgrounds with light textures add a bit of depth without pulling focus. Each video also ends with a short quote as a friendly reminder of the gallery rule.
