What Zine

What Zine is a collaborative project with my friend Min shedding light on Cantonese typography design. The zine compiles spoken phrases in Cantonese households and translating them into illustrations and designs. The design includes English and Cantonese 粵拼. This is a creation where we wanted to convey our appreciation to the language as native Cantonese speakers.

One of the highlights of the zine is we designed a quirky chart with sliders indicating the tone of how the phrase is spoken in a Cantonese household.

We have also combined the pronunciation in English and Cantonese 粵拼 to allow readers to have an understanding of the language.
